| Subject: Pros and Cons of classes and races Fri Aug 20, 2010 10:44 am | |
| This is to assist people with various questions about the different races and to clear up any confusion still left over. Each thing listed below has positives and negatives that people may or may not be aware of. You will notice that some things are really quite alike (especially when you reach the human classes: Knight, Warrior, and Paladin), but even they have their differences both big and small. And of course as usual, if there are still questions left over don't hesitate to PM staff about it. Unbound Demon - Spoiler:
Positives - Physically stronger than humans and magi
- Better than humans at magic
- Hard to kill
- Due to how they get stronger, it's possible for them to grow at an alarming rate.
Negatives - Because of how they get stronger, it's possible for them to slowly grow and thus be overpowered easily
- Hated by virtually everyone and thus put in a "back against the wall" kind of situation
- Their powers aren't very flexible in comparison to the mage
- They lack a physical weapon
Bound Demon - Spoiler:
Positives - Physically stronger than humans and magi
- Better than humans at magic
- Hard to kill
- Grow stronger faster than Unbound demons due to having a constant source of power
Negatives - Hated by virtually everyone and thus put in a "back against the wall" kind of situation
- Their powers aren't very flexible in comparison to the mage
- They lack a physical weapon
- If the thing or person they are bound to dies, they die as well
- Cannot leave the area they are bound to. If they are bound to a human, they can't be without them. Meaning, they lack the freedom of Unbound demons
- If bound to the human and the human dies by any means, the demon dies too
Magi - Spoiler:
Positives - Best race at magic
- Tend to have a natural high intellect
- Have the Magi Tower as a safe haven regardless of alliance
Negatives - Physically the weakest race
- Because of their reliance on magic, Dispel runes tend to leave them defenseless
Mage - Spoiler:
Positives - Strongest class in magic
- Are superior with staffs
- Have a flexibility with their magic that demons lack
- Have the capability of possessing powerful attacks
Negatives - Lacking physical strength
- Dispel rune will put a Mage out of commission real quick
- Heavy reliance on spells cause a problem when cooldowns take hold (so plan ahead)
- They do not get troops
Warrior - Spoiler:
Poitives - Physically strong
- Can have multiple weapons
- Has a wide arrange of weapons to pick from
- Can float between kingdoms and offer services to either one
- Get 5 troops per 50 points!
Negatives - Because of a lack of solid loyalty to one nation, they aren't well protected
- Gets less troops than the Knight
- Expendable
- No magic, period
Knight - Spoiler:
Positives - Because they are loyal to ONE Kingdom, they always have support
- Can have a large range of weapons
- Are physically very strong
- Get benefits that Warriors cannot have due to the Knight being loyal to one Kingdom
- Get 10 troops per 50 points!
Negatives - Knights lack magic period
- Unless IC events occur they are restricted to one kingdom (in terms of loyalty) and thus, don't have the kind of freedom of choice a Warrior does
- Are less expendable than Warriors, but still not that hard to come by
Paladin - Spoiler:
Positives - Get various runes that have interesting effects
- Are important to Kingdoms and thus, not remotely as expendable as Warriors or Knights
- Able to detect demons (with the Dispel rune)
- Only class that is able to use runes
- Are physically very strong
Negatives - Are generally used for the sole purpose of hunting mages / demons and thus are not often called upon for much else like a Knight (so don't expect to be a Paladin with Knight benefits right off the bat)
- Serve the Church above the Kingdom, and thus may not always receive the same benefits as a Knight
- If they lose their rune, they they become no more different than a Knight on the battlefield
Again, we hope this helped a bit, and if questions are still left over PM a staff member with it, or even ask it in the Chatbox. All things here were checked and cleared by Warren, the Webmaster, himself. ~DA Staff | |
