Among those of Tartarus Prison who opt to become gladiators, willing law abiding competitors and a large variety of demons fight to the death for the entertainment of the hundreds of spectators. On occasion, special matches are fought and those who are lucky enough to survive win great prizes and treasures.
Tartarus Prison is the world's highest security prison. There has never been a single riot, nor has anyone ever escaped. It is infamous for having the strictest rules and little to no freedom for any who enter. It also one of the few prisons that have individually designed cells for mages and demons, making escape nigh impossible for even them.
